Company Profile
Alder Veterinary Hospital
Company Overview
Alder Veterinary Hospital (formerly Arroyo Veterinary Clinic)
San Lorenzo, CA, East Bay
About us:
Independent. Veterinarian-owned. Not corporate.
Alder Veterinary Hospital is privately owned by veterinarians. Decisions about patient care, equipment, and staffing are made in our building by a DVM who still sees cases, not by a corporate office or private-equity group. Our doctors get real clinical autonomy, a direct line to the owner, and the freedom to practice medicine the way they were trained.
Our team: four veterinarians, three licensed RVTs, RVT-eligible technicians, and trained assistants and client service staff. You spend your time on medicine, not restraint, setups, and phones.
We're investing in our future, not selling it. In fall 2026, we plan to move into a new purpose-built hospital, designed around how doctors and technicians actually work. We have a dedicated dental suite, ultrasound and in-house labs, and endoscopy and CT arrive with the new building. We don't do overnight emergency; we partner with nearby ERs in San Leandro, Oakland, Dublin, and San Ramon.
If you're looking for a practice where you're a colleague, not a production number, we'd like to meet you.
Company History
Established in 1972 as Arroyo Veterinary Clinic, a 1,900 sq ft free-standing veterinary hospital, and remodeled in the early 2000s. AAHA featured our practice in the AAHA Trends publication as an AAHA Champion in February 2016. Our clients rate us highly, and we've been named Nextdoor Neighborhood's Best for the past five years.
