Description
Commerce Veterinary Hospital is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our team!
We are a busy, well established, privately owned small animal practice serving Northeast Georgia since 1954, and we are now proud to be serving our clients and community from two convenient locations. We're hiring an Associate Veterinarian who enjoys variety and wants to practice quality medicine alongside an experienced, supportive team.
Our practice sees a combination of scheduled appointments and walk-in patients, so no two days are exactly the same. You'll see routine wellness and preventative care, sick visits, urgent cases, diagnostics, and plenty of interesting medicine.
The position includes:
- Four clinical weekdays per week, generally 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
- One consistent weekday off each week
- Rotating 5:00 PM days
- A one-hour lunch
- ~Two Saturdays per month, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
- Approximately one scheduled surgery day per week
- Occasional rotation into surgery as needed to help cover cases
- One appointment day per week
- No after-hours on-call
- No overnight emergency duty
This position will be based primarily at our Banks/441 location, conveniently located just off Highway 441 North on the south end of Banks County. You'll occasionally work at our original Downtown Commerce location, located right in the heart of downtown Commerce. Both hospitals are easily accessible from I-85 and 411 and offer the best of both worlds when it comes to where you live and work. We're roughly 10 minutes from shopping, restaurants, and everyday conveniences, while still being far enough outside the city to enjoy everything Northeast Georgia's rural lifestyle has to offer.
We're looking for someone to join our team who practices good medicine but is also a good human being and a good teammate. Someone who communicates well with clients, respects the entire veterinary team, isn't afraid of a busy day, and understands that excellent veterinary medicine involves caring for both the patient and the person who loves them. We want someone who can work independently but also appreciates collaboration. Someone who wants to keep learning, someone who can handle the occasional chaos of veterinary medicine and still laugh with the team at the end of the day, and most importantly, someone who wants to be part of a practice and a community, not simply fill a position.
Our benefits package includes:
- Competitive compensation
- 401(k) with employer contributions/match
- Employee health insurance paid by the practice
- Paid continuing education
- Paid professional licensing
- Paid uniforms
- Paid vacation
- Paid sick leave
- Continuing education and professional growth opportunities
- Consistent weekly day off
- Limited Saturday schedule
- No after-hours call or emergency responsibility
- And because we're privately owned, you can actually talk to the people making the decisions.
- One of the greatest things we can offer an associate is experience around you. You'll be joining a team of five veterinarians with decades of combined experience who genuinely collaborate on cases and support one another. Whether you're an experienced veterinarian or a new graduate, there is tremendous value in having other doctors around who have seen a lot, are willing to share what they've learned, and aren't afraid to ask each other for another opinion. We also have an experienced support team and the equipment needed to practice quality small animal medicine, including in-house diagnostics, radiology, and well-equipped surgical facilities.
We've been caring for pets in this community since 1954, and we're incredibly proud of what CVH has become. We've grown to two locations, expanded our services, invested in our facilities and team, and continued to evolve with veterinary medicine, but we're still a local veterinary hospital. Our owners work here in the hospital daily with the team, and our decisions are made here with the whole team in mind. Our doctors have autonomy and the ability to practice medicine without a corporate office several states away determining how our hospital should operate.
If you're looking for private practice, an experienced team, a predictable schedule, excellent benefits, interesting medicine, no after-hours call, and a place where you can put down roots, we think CVH might be exactly what you're looking for. Experienced veterinarians and new graduates are encouraged to apply. We would love to bring you in to meet our doctors and staff, tour the Banks and Commerce hospitals, see how we practice, ask us the hard questions, and allow you to talk to the people who actually work here.
